1. Bring bug spray. The wooded trail and the area near the tree line can have gnats and mosquitoes, especially in warmer months. I keep a stash in my bag, but applying some before we start is a good idea.
2. Arrive early. I recommend arriving at the parking area about 15 minutes before our scheduled start time. This gives us buffer for the trail walk and a few minutes to settle in before we start shooting.
3. Leave the heels in the car. Between the sandy trail, soft beach sand, and driftwood, heels aren’t practical here. Barefoot is beautiful and works perfectly for the vibe of this location.
4. Know there are no restrooms on the beach. There’s a portable restroom at the parking area — plan accordingly, especially with little ones.
