A Jacksonville Beach Elopement at Sunrise
They arrived at the beach before the rest of the world woke up — just the two of them, their officiant, and me. The sun rose slowly over the Atlantic, painting the sky in shades of gold and amber. They read their vows quietly to each other, barefoot in the sand, while the waves rolled in behind them. By the time we finished photographing, the beach was still nearly empty. It was perfect. It was entirely theirs.
A “Married in a Day” Ceremony in Folkston, GA
This Jacksonville couple had been together for twelve years and decided they were done waiting for the “right time” for a big wedding. They drove to Folkston, obtained their Charlton County marriage license in the morning, and had their ceremony under the oaks at The Inn at Folkston that same afternoon. The whole day lasted about five hours — and produced some of the most joyful, genuine photographs I’ve ever taken. Their laughter echoed through the garden. They didn’t need a crowd to feel celebrated.

What started as a scheduled engagement session on Amelia Island turned into one of the most spontaneous and beautiful elopements I’ve been part of. They had gotten their license a week earlier “just in case” — and on that golden afternoon on Fernandina Beach, with the light absolutely perfect and the moment feeling right, they decided to make it official.
