Step 1: Choose Your Location
Your engagement session location should feel meaningful to you — whether that’s the beach where you had your first date, the neighborhood where you fell in love, or simply the most beautiful spot you know. Step 2: Plan Your Outfits
Outfit coordination is one of the most impactful decisions you’ll make for your session. Here’s what works best:

Step 3: Time It Right
The single most important factor in beautiful outdoor photography is light — and the best light of the day happens during golden hour, approximately 60 minutes before sunset. I highly recommend scheduling your session to end at golden hour. If an evening session doesn’t work, early morning about an hour after sunrise offers similarly beautiful light.
Step 4: Prepare and Relax
Plan for hair and makeup if desired, arrive a few minutes early to settle in, and most importantly — remember that you don’t need to know how to pose. That’s my job. Your only job is to show up, be present with your partner, and have fun. I’ll guide you through the session with gentle prompts and natural movement exercises that produce genuine, relaxed, joyful photos.
How Long is a Typical Engagement Session?
Most engagement sessions run 1–2 hours. This gives us enough time to explore a location, try a couple of different poses and setups, and really settle into a relaxed groove. If you want to use multiple locations or bring outfit changes, we can extend the session.
