Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and having beautiful photographs to look back on is a top priority for most couples. As a Jacksonville wedding photographer, I want to make sure you feel confident and prepared so we can capture the most authentic, stunning images possible.
Start with a Timeline That Works
One of the biggest factors in great wedding photography is having enough time. Work with your planner and photographer to build a realistic timeline that includes buffer time between events. Rushing leads to stress, and stress shows in photos. Aim for at least 30–45 minutes for bride and groom portraits, plus additional time for wedding party and family formals.
Choose the Right Lighting Window
The golden hour — that magical time about an hour before sunset — offers the most beautiful, soft, warm light. If at all possible, plan your ceremony end time or portrait session to take advantage of this window. Your photos will thank you!
Prepare Your Details the Night Before
Gather all your detail items the evening before your wedding: rings, invitation suite, shoes, jewelry, perfume, and any other meaningful accessories. Having these ready in a pretty box or bag makes the detail shots go quickly and smoothly, so we have more time for the fun stuff.
Relax and Trust the Process
At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you enjoy every moment of your wedding day. When you’re relaxed, laughing, and fully present, that’s when the most beautiful, genuine photos happen. Trust your photographer, trust your timeline, and soak it all in!
